How long should a west Highland white terrier bleed for when they are in season?
west highland terrierHi
I have a west highland terrier and she is in season and has been bleeding for the last week+. is this normal and how long do they normally blead for?
Thanks
Lillybet
like any breed of dog, she will be in season for 3 weeks. Some bleed more profusely or longer than others, but uusally for the first 10-15 days. She can Still be mated and get “pregnant” at any time during that 3 weeks.

It’s normal.
If you spay her, she won’t do it at all.

And your dog isn’t spayed BECAUSE? Waiting for her to get cancers? BTW, it’s BLEED, not BLEAD. Maybe you’re waiting for her to get accidentally bred so you can bring more unwanted pups into this world.

From what the vet told me when my puppy went in season, 21 days. It can be off and on! I bought the diapers, but boy are they hard to put on and she got them off a lot faster than I got them on..hehe

I would like to have my puppy sprayed but the vet told me that it’s better to do that after she has had one season. she started bleeding for the first time last Thursday, the poor darling is not sure whats happening. I got herd the diapers, but still so worried to let her of the lead when we go out.
